Tips for Jump Starting a Vehicle
Batteries commonly fail to start vehicles during winter, which necessitates getting or giving a jump start. The only equipment required is a set of battery cables. Start by parking the front of the vehicles as close to each other as possible. Turn off the engine, headlights, and infotainment systems.
Clamp the red jumper cable end to the positive battery post of the good battery. Attach the other red end to the positive post of the bad battery. Repeat the process using the black, negative ends of the jumper cables and the negative battery posts.
Start the assisting vehicle. Idle the engine for a few minutes. Now, try starting the ailing vehicle. Remove the negative and then the positive ends of the jumper cables. Allow the vehicle having the weakened battery to run to ensure recharging. Consult with one of our service technicians for all of your battery problems.
