Both are Built to Deliver
The Corolla features a 1.8L 16-valve engine that generates 132 horsepower and delivers 6.5 L/100km on the highway and 8.3 L/100km in the city using an automatic transmission. The 2.0L Atkinson 4-cylinder engine featured in the Elantra generates 147 horsepower and delivers 5.3 L/100km on the highway and 7.6 L/100km in the city. While these aren't huge differences, the Elantra does deliver a combination of more power and better fuel economy. Filled with Safety Systems
The Corolla includes many safety features that are found on all Toyota vehicles, as part of the Toyota STAR® Safety System. It also includes Toyota Safety Sense P, which combines a few extra safety features such as a Pre-Collision System and Lane Departure Alert. The Elantra includes many similar features, with a few different that are different. The Lane Departure Alert includes Lane Keeping Assistance to apply corrective steering should you fail to respond to the alert. It also includes a Burnt Lightbulb Warning so you know your vehicle is visible and all of the signal lights are working.
Both have been Recently Redesigned
The Corolla has been redesigned to be more athletic and sporty, making it a fun car to drive. LED lights and low rolling resistance tires are functional and add to the sporty look. The Elantra has been newly redesigned with 2.5 times the advanced high strength steel compared to previous generations, making it exceptionally stiff and rigid. The front end is extremely edgy making it aerodynamic to reduce drag, and is framed by projection headlamps. Some additional features, such as a sunroof, that the Corolla does not have can be found in the Elantra.
The Corolla and Elantra both feature a wide variety of technology features, including a touchscreen audio system with Bluetooth®, voice recognition, a backup camera, and a navigation system. The Elantra includes some extra features such as a heated leather steering wheel and heated seats, as well as the available Driver's Integrated Memory System, which automatically adjusts the driver seat and exterior mirrors for two different drivers.
