The new Tundra models lineup offers a variety of options for all types of drivers, with available SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro, and the new flagship Capstone trim. The TRD Pro and Capstone trims boast a maximum towing capacity of up to 12,000 pounds, making them ideal for heavy-duty tasks.

The new Toyota Tundra comes equipped with two powerful new powertrains, including a twin-turbo V6 engine and a hybrid twin-turbo V6 engine, with the latter being the more powerful option. Both engines feature the 10-speed Electronically Controlled Automatic Transmission with intelligence (ECTi) and come with a sequential shift mode, uphill/downhill shift logic, and TOW/HAUL drive modes.

The 3.5-liter twin-turbo i-FORCE V6 boasts a powerful 389 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, while the hybrid i-FORCE MAX powertrain offers even more power, with 437 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and an impressive 583 lb-ft of torque at a low rev of 2,400 rpm. This engine is also an efficiency expert, the gasoline estimated fuel economy is 20 MPG city/24 MPG highway/22 MPG combined, depending on the trim level and powertrain.

The i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain combines the twin-turbo V6 with an electric motor located inside the bell housing between the engine and the 10-speed automatic transmission. The powerful hybrid electric models use a proven and reliable 288V sealed Nickel-Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) battery that is located under the rear seats.

At lower speeds, the electric motor does most of the work, while the gas engine kicks in at higher speeds for optimal performance. In TOW/HAUL mode, the i-FORCE MAX system is constantly at work to deliver impressive acceleration and the torque you need for heavy-duty tasks.
